How to Add an Agency to Your Google Business Profile

Giving Sagentic Web Design Access to Your Google Business Profile

Before Sagentic Web Design can work on your local search visibility, you need to give us access to your Google Business Profile. That access lets us review the current state of your listing, find what is holding it back, and optimize it so you appear more often when nearby customers search.

You never share your password. Google is built to let you invite other people to help manage your profile using their own accounts, and you can remove that access at any time.

If your business does not have a listing yet, start with our guide on getting your Google Business Profile started, or reach out and we will handle the setup for you.

The Dashboard You Remember Is Gone

If you have done this before, expect it to look different. Google retired the old Google My Business dashboard in November 2024. There is no separate website to log into anymore — you now manage your profile directly inside Google Search and Google Maps.

So instead of visiting a dashboard, you sign in to Google and search for your own business. Your management controls appear right there in the search results. It feels strange the first time and then becomes second nature.

Before You Start

  • You must be signed in to the Google account that owns the profile. Managers cannot add other users; only owners can.
  • If you are not sure which account owns it, try the one used to verify the business originally.
  • If the profile was set up by a former employee or a previous marketing company and nobody on your team can get in, stop and call us. Google has a process for reclaiming a profile you own but cannot access, and we will walk you through it.

Steps to Add Sagentic Web Design to Your Google Business Profile

1

Sign In And Find Your Business

Sign in to the Google account that owns your profile, then search Google for your exact business name. Your profile management panel appears in the results. If you manage several locations, go to business.google.com/locations to see every profile your account can reach, then open the one you want.

2

Open The Menu

In your profile panel, select More — the three dots. Depending on your screen it sits along the top of the panel or off to the right.

3

Go To Business Profile Settings

From the menu, choose Business Profile settings.

4

Select People And Access

Click People and access. On some layouts this is labeled Managers. This screen lists everyone who can currently manage your profile, which is worth a glance on its own — you may find old employees or former vendors still holding access.

5

Add Sagentic Web Design

  • Select the Add button.
  • Enter: 5687830109 — the group "Sagentic Web Design" should appear.
  • Under Access, assign it as Owner.
6

Send The Invitation

Select Invite. We will receive the invitation, accept it, and get started. Let us know once you have sent it so we can watch for it.

Does "Owner" Mean You Lose Control?

No, and this is worth spelling out because the word makes people nervous.

A Google Business Profile can have several owners, but only one primary owner — and that stays you. Adding us as an owner does not remove your access, change your primary ownership, or give us the ability to take the profile away from you. It gives us the permissions we need to do the work properly, including managing other users and making structural changes to the listing.

You can remove us at any time from the same People and access screen.

Common Snags

  • There is no Add button. You are signed in as a manager rather than an owner. Only owners can add users.
  • The group ID does not pull up anything. Check for a typo first. If it still will not appear, send us a screenshot and we will sort it out.
  • You see more than one listing for your business. Duplicate profiles split your reviews and hurt your visibility. Tell us before you grant access and we will work out which to keep and whether the other can be merged.
  • Your screens do not match these steps. Google changes this interface regularly and rolls updates out gradually, so two people can see different layouts on the same day. Send a screenshot and we will point you to the right spot.

What We Do Once We Have Access

We audit the profile for errors and gaps, correct your business information, choose the right categories, add your services and products, upload photographs, write your description, and keep the profile active with posts and updates. We also monitor reviews and help you respond to them.
